“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all,

how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?”

Romans 8:31-32

We have been in Haiti for a month now and we thank all of you for your prayers and every other way you enabled us to get here and to stay here. We have been taking things slowly since returning: though wide-spread protests have not begun again the country has taken quite a toll from the last year of unrest. Everyone is uneasy and fearful, and everyday life is harder than ever before with costs (of food, fuel, supplies, etc.) often up to ten times higher than they used to be. Prudence in every decision is crucial. Thank you for praying for wisdom and clarity for us and for those serving with us so that every step we take is at the Lord’s leading.

We are praising the Lord that the opposition leader finally saw the damage being done to the nation’s children and has ceased the threats against schools functioning. School in Carries opened last week and we have seen a steady growth in attendance each day. Please continue to pray for safety for our teachers (many of whom come from Port-au-Prince every day) and students, and that school would remain open throughout the rest of the semester.

One urgent prayer request we have right now is for Mdme. François/Bioude. We believe she had a small stroke last week and lost her ability to speak. Slowly she is recovering, and able to move on her own and say a few words now. Bioude is has been with Wilckly from the beginning, helped to raise the children at the children’s home, and is like a grandma to our whole family. Seeing her suffer is very hard on all of us, especially her daughters who stay with us (Tite and Tika). Please pray for her complete healing as well as the energy we need to care for her.

IN THE HEART OF PORT-AU-PRINCE sits a church…one of the first churches God used Wilckly to plant, and what a testament they are to GOD’S GRACE AND FAITHFULNESS. Every Sunday they average around 200 attendees. This church is in La Saline, the industrial district near Cite Soleil (the city’s slums and gang-central), and it is THRIVING, VIBRANT, and GROWING. Praise the Lord for His work among this people!!

Thank you for your partnership with us in the gospel. We can never express how grateful we are to each of you.

With Love,

The Dorcés
