Dorce Family Haiti Update

November 2017

Wilckly, Dee, Ashley, Kelsey, Josiah

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you for your prayers, participation, and financial help towards the Tas Kafe Cho celebration. Over 200 people were in attendance almost all five nights of revival, and about 300 were fed at the meal after the party on the last day! It was so good to see the collaboration of our churches, not only by lending sound equipment, worship leaders, and speakers, but also in their participation and encouragement. The people of the community also pitched in to help set up, clean up and to cook and distribute the meal. God has used Tas Kafe Cho in mighty ways to impact Carries and the surrounding area, so they all took ownership of the celebration. Our prayer is that all involved would be unified in the goal of continuing to bring about lasting change among their neighbors’ lives through the spreading of the gospel. Pray with us that those in leadership positions in TKC and all our churches would stand out, that others would notice a difference in them as a result of the changed lives they live in Christ, and that this would be their greatest witness.

Praise the Lord, the backhoe is moving!!!

Thanks to David’s research and many people working together, we were able to take apart the motor and discover exactly what was wrong with it, and we are so glad it was an easy problem to fix!

Of course along with putting an engine back together come other small problems, so it is not quite ready to be on the job every day yet, but the biggest obstacle is overcome! We can’t wait to have this machine moving and working and digging and repairing. Many projects that have been at a standstill can soon be progressing again.

Thank you SO much for all your prayers, financial help, and patience with us through this difficulty!!!

We were so blessed to have David Dukes and Pat Jenkins join Shaina to celebrate 10 years of Tas Kafe Cho with us.

Pat preached on Sunday at Kat Kalin about Heaven and shared at the church leader seminar. David preached about Nehemiah all five nights of the revival with Wilckly translating and also taught at the seminar.

Shaina was in charge of “picture day” at the school: she hopes to create an album that we will present to our teachers and graduate students this spring.

Ten of our churches were invited to the seminar, but due to rain and mud in many parts of Haiti only five were able to be represented. We were so pleased to be able not only to visit with these brothers and sisters and share some encouragement, but also to present them with Bible study books in Creole from LATM (more on that in our next letter), home-made sacks sent by faithful supporters, and T-shirts designed by Pat with John 14:6 in French.

For Prayer:
  • Pray that we would remain healthy to do the work God has given us.
  • December and January tend to be difficult months financially, and this coincides with special occasions at the school and churches, and holiday bonuses we desire to give to our Haitian employees. Please pray for wisdom in dealing with finances, and for us to be patient and trust, knowing God has always provided in the past.
  • Encouragement: it can be hard to be away from family, especially around the holidays. Ashley will be spending Christmas with Dee’s mom in Iowa.
Ministry Opportunity:

With Shaina’s job changing to a State-side position, we are looking for someone to come teach the kids (Kelsey and Josiah)!  Please contact Shaina at [email protected] for details on the job description if you are interested!

Please pray for me (Dee), as I will be homeschooling the kids until

this position is filled, and for wisdom and energy to also accomplish

all the tasks and demands of the ministry.

Thank you for your faithful partnership!

With Love, The Dorcés
