Blessing Hearts International Short-Term Mission Trip Information

  • Check with your doctor at least 2 weeks before your trip about vaccinations. We require all visitors to take the recommended prescription for Malaria pills, the Tetanus immunization and the first round of the Hepatitis A vaccination. Other vaccinations that may be recommended are Hepatitis B and Typhoid. You can also check online with the CDC at
  • Each trip participant must have some type of international insurance. Check with your group leader about group insurance. If you are traveling individually, ask your insurance agent. Some agencies offer short-term overseas insurance.
  • Trip cost is $2000 per person per week. This will cover all costs, including airfare, except personal purchases such as souvenirs.
  • Depending upon the nature of the trip the cost could change. Blessing Hearts International, along with the group leader, will determine what project(s) the group will do, and should additional cost be required to help with the project(s), the group will be informed in time to raise said funds.
  • You’ll stay at the mission compound, with the Dorcé family. Limit 15 people to a group.
  • Accommodations will be “rustic.” Remember your hosts offer the best they have, so be gracious. All meals will be provided, but packed snacks may be a good idea for the evening, and an empty water bottle to be refilled as needed.
  • It is imperative that you have your passport and a copy of your passport to keep in a separate place. Passports must be valid at least 6 months after you return from Haiti. Bring a copy of your insurance card as well.
  • Remember when working in a 3rd world country the key word is flexibility. Schedule adjustments will be made as needed. Please remember you are a guest of the Dorcés in their country and on their mission field.
  • The Dorcés will pick you up at the airport. It is helpful if your bags are marked with identifying tags or ribbon. Everyone seems to have black bags!
  • The Dorcés’ address for the Visa issued on the plane is National Rt #1, Carries, Arcahie.
Have fun and be blessed!
